July 10- Fifth Sunday After Pentecost
Let your merciful ears, O Lord, be open to the prayers of your humble servants; and, that we may receive what we ask, teach us by your Holy Spirit to ask only those things that are pleasing to you; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who with you and the same Spirit lives and reigns for ever and ever. Amen.

Dear People of the Diocese of Kootenay,
Last week I spent two days at OAC (Okanagan Anglican Camp). Camp Director Ian Dixon, The Rev. Canon Chris Harwood-Jones and I led the staff training for the Summer Staff and the Junior Cabin leaders (volunteers known as J.C.’s). This includes everything from Safe Church and anti-bullying training, emergency procedures, communications and community building. The staff for our summer camps, amazing young adults and older teens, are an energetic, enthusiastic, and committed group who will create a great camping experience for over 500 kids this summer!
I am hoping you will join me in praying for OAC over the next 7 weeks. Please pray for:
All the staff and volunteers including:
- Program staff: waterfront, crafts, games, faith time, nature
- The cook and kitchen staff
- The nurse
- Maintenance
- All the chaplains
________________
- All the campers
- Physical health and safety, good sleep, energy and resilience
- Friendships: new and old
- Fun
- Good weather
- Meaningful worship
- Each person to encounter God through the beauty of nature, worship life, singing, community life, friendships, acceptance, silence to hear trees, birds and the lake
- Christian community life that exhibits God’s love through respect for each person, respect for diversity, kindness, beauty and awe in nature, compassion, and forgiveness
- Laughter and joy
I hope your prayers for OAC brings both good memories of camp and a rich, restful, and restorative summer for you. The summer chaplain schedule can be viewed below.
Blessings,
+Lynne
